refresher course

The Refresher Course is tailor-made for the individual who is already qualified in Aromatherapy Massage but who has not had the opportunity to practice for a while, would like to re-enter the profession and needs the latest up-to-date information.

Aromatherapy is a dynamic subject that is constantly evolving as new information is discovered.  It is important to stay as up-to-date as possible with the latest thinking, as well as refresh previous studies.  An Aromatherapy Refresher Course is the perfect way to update your knowledge on an individual basis without the formality of a classroom environment.

Refresher courses are based at Nottingham and run on a one-to-one basis for as many half, or full day sessions as the student requires.

Price:

£150.00 for up to 8 hours (1 day) guaranteed one to one tuition, including a comprehensive, bespoke handout and/or any practical tuition
OR
£100.00 for up to 4 hours (half day) guaranteed one to one tuition, including comprehensive, bespoke handout and/or any practical tuition

upgrade course

This course is specifically aimed at Aromatherapists who originally qualified with other awarding bodies (see list below) but who now wish to upgrade their qualification to the prestigious IFA Level 4 Diploma in Aromatherapy Massage, thereby gaining full membership to the IFA.

Rather than starting a course of Aromatherapy study all over again, the IFA have devised a program that allows students to only complete specific modules of the IFA Aromatherapy Massage syllabus, essentially bridging the gap between one course of study and the other.

The process for the Upgrade Course is as follows:

Once the student has contacted Rosewood Aromatherapy College requesting to undertake this course, they will be issued with an Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) mapping questionnaire which they will need to complete and return to the College, together with evidence of their course handouts, case studies, assignments and copies of certificates.

At this point, an initial tutorial will be arranged with the student to assess which IFA modules need to be bridged, so that additional study can get underway.  Tutorial sessions will continue until all the additional modules have been completed.  The number of sessions will vary depending on how much additional material needs to be covered, how quickly the student learns and produces any additional assignments and case studies that may be required.

Once the student has completed all areas of study, they will be entered for the IFA Aromatherapy Massage theory exam (2 hours), the results of which will be sent back to their tutor.  Assuming they have passed, the student will then be awarded the IFA Level 4 Diploma and be invited to join the IFA as a full member.

Prior Qualifications for the Upgrade Course:

Aromatherapy Massage qualifications from the following awarding bodies are generally suitable to upgrade to IFA Level 4: ABC Awards, CIDESCO, City and Guilds, ITEC, etc.  Although all will be assessed on a case by case basis.

Students who have already completed an acceptable Anatomy and Physiology qualification, to a minimum of Level 3 and within the previous three years, will be exempt from taking the IFA A&P exam.  A&P qualifications from the following awarding bodies will be exempted:  ABC Awards, CIDESCO, City and Guilds, ITEC, LCSP, MD, MINMH, MTI, NVQ3 and SRN.

Costs:

IFA Student Membership registration (valid for 2 years) - £35.00
Tutorial fees for Rosewood Aromatherapy College - £150 for up to 8 hours of tuition or £100 for up to 4 hours of tuition (this includes any additional bespoke handouts, one to one teaching, and marking of any additional assignments/case studies that may be required).

IFA Aromatherapy Massage Theory Exam fee - £37.50
Students who are required to carry out additional case studies will also need professional indemnity insurance.  However, if they are already practising as a therapist, their current insurer should be able to provide this.

Graduates from other Aromatherapy courses are very welcome to improve their knowledge and qualification with Rosewood Aromatherapy College in a friendly, relaxed and informal environment.
